About Ashley Matthews

After starting at BC Services in 2003 as a customer service representative, I have served in various roles throughout my tenure. I started as a customer service representative and worked client accounts, reconciliation reports and client insurance accounts until 2015. In 2015 I became a contract employee at a large local hospital l and had the opportunity to supervise their billing floor. After working locally at our client’s office in 2015, I was promoted to a supervisor role in 2016. Later in 2016 I transitioned to the Client Support Services Manager and served there until November of 2022.During my time in customer service I was blessed to get to know more about our company, our clients, and most importantly to me—our employees. When Covid hit, and through building a remote team environment, I realized I was most passionate about our people- which has lead me to my next journey in HR! I chose to move to HR to explore new passions that would continue to further my career. I have served in various national associations that BC Services partners with (primarily ACA and MDHBA) and with the support and guidance of amazing mentors was awarded with the Presidential Award in 2017 and the Robert T. Hellrung Award in 2018 (both through MDHBA). I also enjoyed giving seminars locally and nationally while serving on the board in MDHBA and am still in contact with my colleagues across the nation as we work through various successes and challenges the industry faces in the ever-changing legislative climate.On a more personal note, I am married with three amazing kiddos. I never thought I would be the type of person to buy clothes for my dog, but love dressing our two toy Aussies (Abbi and Faith). I can cook (sort of) but cannot bake. I read my Bible every morning and I journal daily. I am not the rain maker. I love war movies. I believe in strong community and that it really does take a village to raise a child. I don’t worry about small things, but I do believe that details matter. I believe that life is actually long and that is why our choices matter. I live by the truth that all of living comes down to matters of the heart. I have lived a lot of life, in a lot of cities, with a lot of trials- and am so thankful to work alongside the amazing people here at BC Services! “We don’t need a title to lead.
