About Ashley Messer

After joining US Conventional Projects team as a Construction Technical Foreman, took on a new role to become their SSHE advisor in Houston. I was hired by ExxonMobil in June of 2013. My experience ranges from scaffold builder to board operator & completing two facility start-ups before age 35. I have accumulated over 18 years of experience in projects, operations, construction, and maintenance. Over 15 years of that experience was obtained on the North Slope, AK giving me arctic & rotational experience. Prior, I was one of the control room board operators at Point Thomson. Before leaving, I gained experience in Logistics and Procurement as a warehouse lead - giving SAP knowledge & experience. Much of my experience came before joining Exxonmobil. I was a utility/production operator at the new ENI facility in Prudhoe Bay, AK. I graduated with a 4.0 GPA from Kenai Peninsula College in 2010 with an Associate of Applied Science in Process Technology, while working full time as a Start-up operator and a drillsite operator/facility roustabout on the North Slope. I have experience and was involved in the start-ups of both Pt. Thomson and Nikaitchuq Process Facility as well as a variety of skilled positions including board operator, start-up operator, relief board operator, process operator, utility operator, drillsite operator/facility roustabout, scaffold builder, pipefitter/welder helper, carpenter, civil crew, insulator helper, engineering assistant and experience as a fire/hole watch. In these positions I have learned to work as a team player as well as a motivated individual. Some of my training includes Alaska Safety Handbook(ASH), Red Book training, ENI’s annual HSE training, NSTC, Gravitech 40 hour fall protection plus AES 8 hour fall protection class. Lock out/tag out, confined space, manlift certified, F&F health and safety, Conocophillips “Skills Now” training, as well as all DOT and PSM required annual training. Also, a regular participant in the behavioral based safety program at various job locations. Some of my basic highlights are: Start up board operator at Pt Thomson, AK Start up/Process/Utility/ & Relief Board operator at the brand new Nikaitchuq Process Facility Writing and issuing unit, hotwork, opening & blinding and confined space permits. A volunteer industrial firefighter and member of MERT (medical emergency rescue team). EMT 1 Alaska state certified. •Experience and knowledge in reading P & ID’s, isometric drawings, blue prints, and U-1 drawings.
