About Ashley N.

I am a dedicated residential support specialist with a strong commitment to providing holistic support to at-risk youth and young adults who are navigating transitional living. In my current role, I assist residents in developing essential life skills, managing daily routines, and accessing critical resources. My achievements include facilitating individualized care plans, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to address program members' unique needs, and mentoring clients to build confidence and life skills. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the profound impact that compassionate support can have during life transitions.In addition, I am an aging punk rocker, a retired flight attendant, an amateur genealogist, a karaoke enthusiast, an ambitious home cook, but most importantly, a mother to two young boys. I am also a dedicated undergraduate student and I am on track to become a first-generation college graduate. Once I earn my B.A. in Human Services in 2025, I will be eager and willing to set out proving (and improving!) myself in order to make meaningful advances within my field. In the interim, I am enjoying my coursework and taking advantage of any opportunity to learn and grow.Building on my professional experiences, I am pursuing a career as a Child Life Specialist with a focus on victim advocacy and trauma-informed counseling. I am passionate about helping children and families process and recover from adverse experiences, creating therapeutic spaces where healing can thrive. My background has equipped me with the empathy, resourcefulness, and interpersonal skills necessary for this vital work. My goal is to combine my expertise in counseling with child life principles to support children in hospital and community settings.
