About Ashley Oden

With over 12 years of experience in education and a master’s degree in instructional design, I am passionate about creating innovative, engaging, and effective learning experiences. Currently, I teach middle school Reading and Theater, integrating project-based learning, instructional media design, and data-driven strategies to enhance literacy, creativity, and critical thinking. As a nationally STEM-certified educator with a strong background in data analysis and assessment, I leverage data to inform instruction, improve learning outcomes, and personalize student experiences. My expertise extends beyond the classroom through leadership, mentorship, and curriculum development. Throughout my career, I have actively contributed to district and campus initiatives, serving as: Teacher Mentor – Supporting and guiding new educators Leadership Team Member – Driving instructional improvement and professional development TELPAS Rater & RPM Trainer – Ensuring accurate assessment and language proficiency evaluation Capturing Kids’ Hearts District Process Champion – Fostering a positive, relationship-centered school culture Field Trip & UIL Coordinator – Creating enrichment opportunities that extend learning beyond the classroom Recognized for my commitment to excellence, I was honored as Teacher of the Year (2016) and Longview Teacher of the Month (2017).
