Background
About Ashley Parker
My name is Ashley Parker and I have a mind for mathematics and a heart for culture. As a University of Washington senior, expected to graduate August of 2015, majoring in Mathematics I have journeyed multiple avenues of theory and application. Earning a minor in diversity studies allowed me to experience the joys of exploring cultures and learning the history of various groups of people. Studying mathematics allows me to look at real world situations from an analytical and critical perspective. I enjoy problem solving and thriving under pressure, as well as tackling ventures in fast-paced environments. Aside from my passion for science, my heart is drawn towards culture and humanitarian efforts. Through diversity studies I have learned about the persecuted and studied the suffering. Finding a way to use my analytical skills and apply them to humanitarian efforts is my life goal. Traveling to Europe and studying in Germany sparked a desire to explore the world and learn from different cultures to enrich my life and the lives of those around me. I hope to find a career that will allow me to work with a team and meet a variety of people.
