About Ashley Peloso

I am currently pursuing a Master's in Social Work at Widener University to advance my professional abilities in advocacy for victims of gender-based violence, including domestic violence and sexual assault. For my generalist field placement, I served as a clinical intern for the Anti-Violence Partnership of Philadelphia where I provided trauma-informed, strength-based therapeutic services in individual and group therapy sessions with the mission of improving access to mental healthcare and reducing the cycle of violence. In 2019, I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Delaware with dual majors in Psychology and Women & Gender Studies with a Concentration in Domestic Violence Prevention & Services and I have an additional minor in Human Development & Family Studies. With my committment to supporting victims of gender-based violence, I serve in a volunteer-capacity as a Tier 2 advocate for the Sexual Offense Support helpline from the University of Delaware, where I am available for a week-long shift - ensuring hotline coverage daily and helping newer advocates process incoming helpline calls. I am a certified Domestic Violence Specialist following the completion of direct service hours, 70 hours of training, and several mentoring sessions regarding domestic violence-centered issues/barriers.
