About Ashley Peterson

My name is Ashley Peterson and I am pursuing a BSAcc in BYU Marriott's School of Accountancy. Starting this last summer, I've been working as a sales enablement intern for Banner Engineering. During my time at Banner I've analyzed and made suggestions to adjust safety stock levels, built a competitive product comparative document to assist in sales strategy, and have been working on programming a sales tool to standardize company sales technique. Before I decided to pursue accounting, I spent some time exploring an education in engineering. I programmed robots like the Universal Robot and Kuka Kore, learned to read and create schematics, dabbled in circuit board design, taught myself ladder logic to code PLCs (programmable logic controllers), and worked in Brigham Young University's Physics and Astronomy Department as a project assistant. I consider my engineering background to be a major asset as I pursue my studies in accounting. Engineering has enabled me to approach problems from unique perspectives and apply diverse thinking patterns to the problems I face. I have been able to take my programming skills and apply them to data analytics. I've also used the same strategic planning skills required to make a circuit board to design sales tools that optimize sale efficiency and clarity. I have always enjoyed a challenge. I look forward to working with companies share my excitement for growth and challenges.
