About Ashley R.

I am a passionate advocate for helping people unlock their full potential. With a deep love for connecting with others, I thrive on building meaningful relationships through active listening and understanding. I believe in empowering individuals to reach their goals by offering guidance, support, and clear communication. My strength lies in using my listening skills and enthusiasm to inspire, motivate, and create impactful change. When it comes to leadership, good leaders within higher education advocate for their constituents, are proactive, and serve as red tape eliminators (or minimizers). The strongest leaders in career services are student-first, empathetic, strategic, and welcoming of change. With 15 years of experience in higher education, I've found my voice as a champion for student outcomes and for Smeal's brand in particular. Recruiting, strategic planning, and event coordination have been significant parts of my positions in the past, but I am most passionate about helping students reach their goals. I care about and connect with students on an individual basis and explore and initiate new ways to develop their skills while enabling my team to do good work and innovate.
