About Ashley Radue

I am a family services professional with five years of experience. I am searching for a career that is a better fit, while still allowing me to work in human services. The most important thing to me is finding an organization whose mission I can stand behind. I have my own personal mission statement that has guided my career, which is to: “Model, guide, and encourage safety, joy, and stability to better the lives of families as a whole.” I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Family Services from the University of Northern Iowa in 2014, which included an internship with the DHS Adoption Team in Sioux City, Iowa. I started my career as a Parent Educator at Four Oaks in Dubuque, Iowa. We relocated to Madison in February 2017, and my first position was a change of pace, nannying for a lovely family. The family had a change in their needs about a year into working with them, which coincided with my desire to return to a traditional family services position. Since that time, I have worked with Reach Dane and WEAP, but am still looking for the right fit for my skills, experience, and mission. My work experience, including most recently with a mental health organization, has shown me the paramount importance of communication and has given me the opportunity to hone these skills. needs. I have also had the opportunity to work with a multitude of people from different backgrounds and cultures. I have learned that approaching each person with respect, curiosity, and a desire to understand goes a long way.
