About Ashley Rahman

I currently have 6 years of experience working with motor vehicle accident claims, 3 years of management experience, and 3 years in wellness coaching for chronic pain patients. I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from York University in 2017 with a clinical experience in the settings of chronic pain, medical-surgical nursing, neurological rehabilitation, adolescent psychiatry, community and mental health nursing. I completed my internship as a Registered Nurse at St. John's Rehab on the Neuro/Stroke Rehab unit. I have also taken on volunteer roles at the Sunnybrook Veterans Centre and St. John's Rehab to expand my knowledge and skills in the health industry, as well as my passion for helping others. I have experience in the Chronic Pain industry since 2019 and have also completed a Wellness Coaching Post Graduate Certificate Program at Humber College with a focus on behavioral change, positive psychology, and motivational interviewing. As of September 2024, I have started the Master's in Counselling Psychology program with Yorkville University to gain knowledge of counselling methodologies and psychotherapeutic interventions, crisis and trauma in counselling, and addiction counselling. I hope to combine my knowledge, skills and judgement as an RN, my background in the MVA/rehabilitation field, and my Wellness Coaching certificate - all to learn new skills in counselling & help others on their mental health journey. I remain passionate in assisting patients with goal setting and health education as they navigate towards their journey toward their best self.
