About Ashley Rivera

I’ve spent 10+ years leveraging my child welfare lived experience to effect policy change that improves and transforms child serving systems. I believe policy solutions and systems change can only happen if the voices of families and youth are represented and are at the forefront of decision making. For the better part of my career I’ve worked with system-involved youth at state and local agencies to amplify youth and family voice and choice in service delivery systems through partnerships, strong collaboration initiatives, and project facilitation. I believe in a family driven, youth-guided approach because families and youth are their own experts. When families’ wants and needs are met, they experience success and positive outcomes. My passion is seeking creative solutions to policy problems that leverage the insights of families and youth with lived experience. I am seeking opportunities that advance the development of youth and family partnerships and improve outcomes for all service recipients.
