About Ashley Scurlock

Hello, I'm Ashley - a Senior Data Scientist at Nielsen, specializing in statistical and machine learning modeling for ratings and weightings of national TV and streaming video. I graduated from the University of Mary Washington with a Bachelor's of Science in May 2020, where I majored in mathematics and double minored in data science and statistics. I then attended the University of Virginia's School of Data Science, where I graduated with a Master's of Science in May 2021. Throughout my undergraduate and graduate experience, I have worked on research projects in multiple different disciplines, such as abstract algebra, cluster analysis, and text analytics. I have presented some of my work at conferences from the university level to the national level, and I have published some of my work as well, which I reference in my publications section. My love for the concepts and practices of data science comes from my drive for finding and solving problems in any industry.
