About Ashley Simons

After giving birth to twin girls at 24 weeks and sadly losing my first born my focus as a mother has made me question my long term career goals. One of my aspirations is to offer science specialist training to deaf children and adults within a safe and exciting environment. I want to offer respite, summer schools and extra education to children with special needs which may or may not include hearing impairments. I am a fully qualified science teacher with QTS and have experience of working with students of all ages and abilities. I am currently working as a head of department at a special needs school. The other passion of mine is to support parents and families in neonatal care. We have set up our own charity in order to provide care packs to families to ensure they have the support needed during a difficult transition into the NICU. We hope to raise awareness and funds to support families across the UK. Follow Isla’s Journey across social media- Registered Charity Number 1183156.
