About Ashley Sutherland

With over 14 years of HR experience in various industries, I am a strategic and operational HR leader who oversees all aspects of HR and compliance for The Baltimore Station, a nonprofit organization that provides housing and support services for veterans and others experiencing homelessness. I hold a bachelor's degree in psychology and I am currently studying for my SHRM-SCP certification. My core competencies include employee and labor relations, performance management, compensation, benefits administration, conflict resolution, diversity, and recruitment. I collaborate with the leadership team, the board of directors, and all levels of staff to ensure alignment of HR policies and practices with the mission, vision, and values of the organization. I am passionate about creating and maintaining a positive and inclusive organizational culture, supporting change management initiatives, and enhancing employee engagement and retention. I also manage vendor relations, skill development, and internal and external relationships, as well as oversee quality improvement, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
