About Ashley Swank

Hi, I’m Ashley Swank. I am a budding software engineer currently learning everything I can in moving forward with a career change. I spent the last 11 years working in patient care as a phlebotomist, the most recent six of those years working for myself as an independent contractor. I enjoyed the relationships built along the way, but the time came to challenge myself further. I love learning and diving deep into subjects until I know as much about it as possible. I extend that love of learning into my art, having taught myself the art of papercutting, which takes a lot of detail orientated thought and patience. I learned that I can think of creative ways to achieve an end goal, and I can follow through until a project is complete regardless of how tedious and lengthy the project may be. I have a love of video games and puzzles, and enjoy a proper challenge that makes me think hard. Coding has become an avenue to explore both my love of problem solving and creativity. I hope to continue learning and becoming the best software developer I can be.
