About Ashlie Cameron

My journey through social work began as a young artist seeking another road towards the goal of being an art therapist. My social work career has provided me with valuable knowledge, values, and skills that are applicable to a wide variety of opportunities. My overall goal is to establish myself in the community as a leader uniting the worlds of social work, mental health, and all things creative. I want to one day in the future open an art and creative therapies studio with the goal to serve individuals, groups, and communities. From trauma processing to just having fun and nourishing our inner child, art lends to us a language understood by just about anyone. The best part is being an artist isn't necessary! I've spent the last 8 years of my career learning and growing as much as I can in the world of child and family protection, advocacy, and leadership. I have a passion for the children and families we serve and I truly want to make Mississippi a better place for the underserved and vulnerable.
