About Ashmeet Bindra

A teacher by qualification and an artist by passion, I'm a visual artist who is passionate about catering to the needs of young learners through engaging lessons and guidance sessions. I'm keen on using art as a medium for my learner's academic as well as personal growth. I have done my Bachelors in Elementary Education from Shyama Prasad Mukherji College, University of Delhi and also did a short stint at a design college which I later dropped out of. With experience of working with over 500 learners from age 4 to 20 years, both inside and outside the classroom, I have a diverse background with much to offer in both curricular and co-curricular fields. As a student teacher, I taught 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th grade levels in two Delhi Government Schools namely MCD School, Tilak Nagar and SKV, No.2 Khyala. During these in-service experiences, I learned the most while working with at-risk children. My careful preparation of lessons allowed me to break down complicated concepts in simple language that my young students could easily grasp. Outside of student-teaching, majority of my experience is in teaching and creation of art. By combining my art skills and my passion for teaching, I want to make a humble attempt towards making teaching-learning fun. For instance, I have written and illustrated a big book on Warli Art to be used as an educational resource in my classroom.
