About Ashok Krishnan

I am an experienced professional in the energy industry. My work has generally revolved around formulating and solving power system optimization problems such as those for unit commitment, economic dispatch and optimal power flow. I have experience in formulating and solving these problems using MATLAB, Python, GAMS, PLEXOS and SAInt. Recently, my focus has been on market development activities for long duration energy storage in general and SFW's liquid air energy storage technology in particular. Specifically, my interest lies in understanding how power system simulations can demonstrate the value different technologies can provide to the grid. My professional and academic experiences in 4 countries have shaped my personality. I have had the privilege of working with colleagues from across the world who have always given me fresh perspectives on both professional and personal lives. These experiences have made me flexible as a person and given me the confidence to interact and work with people from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds. I am extremely passionate about the ongoing energy transition and can talk for hours on the subject without getting bored! I am especially interested in understanding the strategies different countries have adopted to achieve their net zero goals.
