About Ashton Crawley

I am an AmeriCorps Member at Crossroads Foundation, where I tutor and mentor high school students in various subjects, such as history, math, and science. I have a Master's degree in Public History from Trinity College Dublin, where I learned about the ethics of museums and archives, historical memory, and the effects of media on historical narratives. I also have a Bachelor's degree in History and Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh. As a public history graduate, I have a keen interest in how history is communicated and preserved in different settings and audiences. I completed a practical internship at TCD's Old Anatomy Museum, where I sorted and described a collection of antique lantern slides and gave recommendations on archival software. I also wrote a dissertation on how dance shapes the identity of the Irish American diaspora, which combined historical research and personal interviews. In my current role, I work with students from diverse backgrounds and help them achieve their academic goals and aspirations. I value collaboration, creativity, and cultural awareness, and I believe I can bring these qualities to any team I join.
