About Ashutosh Choubey

I'm graduate student from Texas A&M university with masters in Environmental & Water resource Engineering. Recently, I collaborated with a team inclusive of professional engineers for a student design competition commissioned by Water Association of Texas (WEAT), in which we designed an expansion of a wastewater treatment plant (won 3rd prize at Texas Water 2019). We were tasked with the designing of expansion of Bohl's wastewater treatment plant (located near Austin, Texas) from 0.7 MGD to 1.5 MGD. The components of WWTP designed includes aeration basin, anoxic basin, aerobic digester, gravity thickener, dewatering units. Further, the calculation of OPCC and scheduling of project was executed using excel, MSP & AutoCAD. This experience exposed me to the working of consulting firms. My Graduate coursework focuses on Drinking water treatment, Biological wastewater treatment, Advanced hydraulics, Water resource planning & Management, and Project management & cost estimation. My masters studies has also provided me with the platform to explore the application of software packages like ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, MSP, AutoCAD and BioWin.My Expertise Lies in; Design Processes of Water/Wastewater Treatment Plants Hydraulics and Head Calculations Solid Waste Processing Watershed Delineation by ArcGIS Dynamic Routing by HEC-RAS Channel Improvement Techniques Construction Planning & Sequencing OPCC(opinion of probable constructioncost)
