About Ashwath Alva

I specialise in architecting and building enterprise, large scale data engineering solutions for critical applications. Have also been a member of enterprise leadership teams driving the discovery, planning, and execution of digital transformation engagements across core business lines in financial services, insurance and telecom domains to achieve differentiation in the market-place. I have also partnered with technology teams to leverage Intelligent Automation emerging technologies (Robotics automation, Machine Learning, Voice / Chat bots) to enhance Omni-Channel customer services and achieve operational efficiencies. Some of my notable achievements include the technology modernisation for Fusion Banking platform in Misys(now Finastra), the real time data analytics use-cases on a highly scalable and distributed platform in Barclays, designing the architecture and building the “Data as a Service” microservice based components for several clients in his current role in Open Insights. CI/CD, containerization and related tools have been my forte with hands-on expertise on Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git and JIRA. With a strong hand in programming, tools and system administration, I have worked on several IaaS and PaaS solutions as well. Past few years, I have extensively worked on AWS, Azure, Google cloud solutions also on hybrid deployments. Because of this expertise I am called to participate in technical panels to evaluate startups with cloud-based strategies. In the recent couple of years, I have started running several data practitioner trainings across different telcos and financial institutions in classroom and virtual formats. My latest batch of trainees at a large European bank went on to build several business cases and were dubbed as “change agents” transforming the data analytics portfolio in a short span of time.
