Nobody gets excited about contracts. I do (probably weird) but it helps. I work with tech teams at Meilin International Law Firm on software licensing, IP transactions, cross-border agreements, and helping clients handle IP/content challenges at scale. My job is figuring out how to make things work, not writing memos about why they cannot. What that actually looks like:(1) drafting, negotiating enterprise licensing, IP, and commercial agreements and minimizing redline rounds to help close deals faster;(2) making privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, APPI) understandable and actionable for product and engineering teams; and (3) creating templates, playbooks, and CLM workflows that make policy and operational guidance easier for teams to follow.(4) keeping up with IP, platform, and AI policy trends, sharing insights that help clients update agreements and internal guidance ahead of regulatory changes. I handle the behind-the-scenes legal work that nobody notices until it goes wrong. IP ownership, data flows, licensing, indemnities might not sound exciting, but it is something that lets teams launch products, close deals, and sleep at night. That is why I love it, practical law that actually helps people build things. Background: India-qualified Advocate (Bar Council of West Bengal), with an LL.M. from Kyushu University in Fukuoka, Japan, now helping APAC companies grow without getting buried in paperwork.
