About Ashwin Kak

I think like a customer. When people contact to plan their travel, or they pick up the phone, they have a travel aspiration in mind and want their itinerary to be well-planned. My goal has always been to maximize efficiency while producing travel services that effectively fulfil customers' needs. When I get into action, I want to know everything. What can we do? How can we do it? The devil is often in the details, so I make sure to be precise and detail-oriented. I strive to build my reputation at work by keeping open lines of communication with teammates and folks in different functional roles to find out what they know and how best to work with them. When I feel I have a firm grasp on the job, I scale up my efforts by training teammates and taking an active role in their development. I use positivity to make work a pleasant place to be, building an atmosphere of trust and fun. Sometimes I find I can still learn new things when a teammate comes in with a fresh perspective, and I seek to give credit and elevate those who have something new to contribute. My positive energy and passion for fun come with me in my day-to-day life. I take pride in doing a little bit of everything. In addition to my career, I've had the opportunity to work as a Tour Manager for a decade, where I could build and execute experiences for thousands of travellers with different temperaments while traveling to nearly 50 different countries. I also keep busy reading business management and personality development books written by world-renowned authors. It's definitely not uncommon to see me working extra hours in the same day. Sometimes it can be strenuous, but I always find it rewarding.
