About Ashwini Vasanthakumar
I am currently an Associate Professor and Queen's National Scholar in Legal & Political Philosophy at Queen's Law School in Canada. I hold an AB from Harvard, a JD from Yale Law School, and a DPhil from Oxford, where I studied as a Canadian Rhodes Scholar. My research interests are in political obligation and authority, migration, transitional justice, and the ethics of resistance. Previously, I have worked at King's College London, the University of York, University College, Oxford, and Jindal Global Law School. I have also been a Researcher at the Institute for Futures Studies (Stockholm), a Visiting Fellow at the Centre for Fundamental Rights at the Hertie School (Berlin) and the Uppsala Forum on Justice and Democracy, and the George Flannery Fellow at the Julius Stone Institute of Jurisprudence (Sydney).
