About Aslam Khan

I introduce myself as “A software technocrat by profession entrepreneur by passion and a philanthropist by heart” having over 25 years of experience in technology strategy management and entrepreneurship working in the USA and Japan for F500 companies and startups. After returning back to India in the year 2005 I founded Octaware Technologies accompanied by a team of young enterprising professionals and in just three short years led the company from inception to profitability. The organization which was established with a mere USD 2000/- capital is now listed at Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and has grown to a multi-million dollar firm with a presence in 8 countries serving customers across the globe. With a strong belief in the maxim “SUCCESS is not what you gain or possess it's helping others become successful in the society” I have invested in a series of healthcare businesses which includes– A Multi-Specialty Hospital Diagnostic Center Eye/Dental Clinic and Therapy & Rehabilitation Center; providing entrepreneurship platform to Medical Professionals which has further given rise to a new breed of entrepreneurs. Being passionate about social entrepreneurship I am leading an initiative in conceptualizing and building a Quality Assurance Lab for the National Association of Blind (Employment &Training) to generate employment opportunities for the Visually Challenged in the Information Technology industry. I am also instrumental in developing a technical skilling and employability program for women with disabilities in the area of IT and Healthcare to generate a home-based employment and entrepreneurship ecosystem. I am avidly involved with a number of philanthropic activities supporting the needy and helping underprivileged sections of the society through my NGO RIDA Foundation registered with the BSE Samman CSR Exchange as I firmly believe that one must not try to build assets just for oneself but try to become an asset for the society.
