Asmita Joshi is a highly experienced professional with a diverse background in architecture, landscape urbanism, ecology, and sustainable development. With 25 years of professional experience, She has made significant contributions as a Professor of Architecture at Dr. B.N. College of Architecture for Women for the past 18 years. She holds a Master's degree in Landscape Urbanism from Kingston University, UK, and is pursuing a Ph.D. at SPPU (Savitribai Phule Pune University), focusing on exploring landscape values in designed landscapes from users' perspectives. Asmita is actively involved in various professional associations and initiatives. She is a member of the Indian Institute of Architects (IIA) and INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage). Her engagement in architecture and conservation is evident through her participation in panels for inspections and approvals, including her role on the panel for DFO (Divisional Forest Officer) training sessions at YASHADA, Pune, with a focus on Cultural Landscapes and Ecotourism. Her dedication to environmental conservation and education is demonstrated through her involvement in diverse projects and organizations. She plays a significant role in managing the Radha Krishna Foundation's Dnyanada English School in Aurangabad, a family initiative aimed at contributing to society through education. Additionally, she serves as the treasurer at the Ambadas Tallu Foundation, which focuses on providing healthcare to underprivileged communities. She is a founding member of the M.Arch Landscape Architecture Course at BNCA in 2006 and established VANAJA, a nature club at BNCA aimed at promoting awareness of landscapes, ecosystems, and wildlife among students. Her notable achievements is the establishment of the United Nations Academic Impact (UNAI) Hub for "Addressing Poverty" at BNCA. Through this initiative, she has facilitated international collaborative programs and spearheaded projects addressing the SDG agenda 2030 in various countries. Her efforts have garnered international recognition, with invitations to speak at prestigious events such as the International UNAI Seoul Forum and at the UN Headquarters. In her current role as the Executive Director of the Institute of Sustainability and Development Studies (ISDS), She continues to champion sustainability and development initiatives. Her multifaceted expertise, coupled with her dedication to education and environmental conservation, makes her a pivotal figure in the fields of architecture, landscape urbanism, and sustainable development.
