About Astolfo Rueda

Above all I aspire to inspire people and companies to break the competitive boundaries to achieve and develop what is next. I analyze existing, new, prototype and future technologies under minimal direction and exercise considerable latitude applying my technical and strategic skills. I collaborate with our storage vendors engineering departments in a daily basis resolving technology challenges and roadmaps while building strong partnerships. Senior technologist with 16+ years of expertise at the forefront of computing, working on state-of-the-art Cloud, Hyperscale, and Storage Area Networking (SAN) systems and technologies. Proven ability to solve complex technical challenges, think outside the box, and understand how to leverage technology that meet virtually any emerging business need. Demonstrated track record working closely with Chief Architects, CEOs, CTOs and Product Managers from top storage companies around the world to help shape new products, set standards, devise best practices, and implement breakthrough solutions. My primary responsibility is the engineering storage (SAN) roadmap at MSFT's Cloud and Enterprise division. I have deep systems engineering experience (storage systems - Operating systems, networks, applications, storage and performance, and process analysis) and understanding business environments from small to hyper scale. Part of my duties are to asses and test different technologies, produce the building blocks for design engineering and best practices; contribute and represent my organization's goals and objectives with our vendors and within MSFT. I have presented a few times at storage conferences and companies in diverse topics like data protection, storage integration and technology futures. I actively participate at SNIA and other groups defining new standards around server and storage technology.
