I am a Ph.D. candidate in Electrical Engineering at UC Irvine, specializing in optical system design, laser technologies, and photonics. My research focuses on coherent LiDARs and Free-Space Optical Communication (FSOC) systems, where I develop solutions for high-resolution and long-distance LiDAR ranging, imaging, and laser-based free-space optical communication systems. I am passionate about solving complex optical challenges through a combination of theoretical modeling, computational simulations, and hands-on experimental work. My expertise extends across various domains, including optical design, optomechanical design, fiber optics, and laser-based applications. Technical Skills & Expertise: Optical and optomechanical system design & simulation (Zemax, Solidworks) Laser systems & photonics applications Computational modeling & data analysis (MATLAB, Python) Experimental physics & optical research Imaging, spectroscopy, and wave optics ARAOptical SISO FSOC Systems →My work has led to the development of ARAOptical SISO FSOC systems currently deployed in IOWA through an NSF-funded project collaboration between Iowa State University and UC Irvine. Establishing a 10km Single-Input-Single-Output (SISO) Free-Space Optical Communication (FSOC) link with 3-level automatic alignment algorithms.(Details: MISO FSOC System → I am working on another NSF-funded multi-input-single-output (MISO) free-space optical communication (FSOC) system planned for deployment for 15km through the same collaboration. MTCW LiDAR Technology → Currently improving Multi-tone Continuous Wave (MTCW) LiDAR technology and leading its prototyping process for long-distance ranging and precise imaging to be implemented for ONR-funded MTCW-LiDAR-Based CubeSat satellite mission. Satellite System Design → I also worked on MTCW-LiDAR-Based CubeSat satellite electrical, optical, powering, and communication system design and analysis. Optical Clock-Free Localization & Navigation (CLAN) → I have also worked on Optical Clock-Free Localization and Navigation (CLAN) which led to developing an optical navigation system based on a similar concept to MTCW LiDAR. I am actively seeking opportunities in Optical Engineering, Photonics, and related Physics-based industries, where I can apply my expertise in optical system design, laser technologies, and computational physics. I am particularly interested in roles involving R&D, optical design, laser systems, etc.
