About Athanasios Krystallis

Athanasios is Executive Director at the Center of Excellence in Food, Tourism and Leisure and Associate Professor of International Business in the American College of Greece (ACG). He also is a Senior Consultant for Shopper Research in IRi S.A.(Athens, Greece). He also is an Adjunct Scholar in the Athens University of Economics and Business and the Hellenic Open University. Prior to this, he was a Professor of Food Consumer Behaviour in Aarhus University (Denmark) in the period 2008-2016. Until today, he has served in various positions in Greek tertiary and research institutions (i.e. Agricultural University of Athens, Hellenic Center for Marine Research, National Agricultural Research Foundation etc.). He holds an MSc degree in International Agricultural and Food Marketing and a PhD in Consumer Behaviour from Newcastle University (UK). His area of expertise is the development of market research designs to study consumer behaviour towards differentiated product/service quality and its impact on attitude & choice. His expertise lies in FMCG /B2B product differentiation, as well as in the development of new offerings in high-tech industries (disruptive technologies, ICT services etc.). His work comprises +70 international peer-reviewed research publications in ASB and ISI-ranked Journals, such as Psychology & Marketing, Journal of Business Ethics, European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Consumer Behaviour, etc. His research work has been presented in +100 conferences and symposia around the world. His research portfolio is cited times so far (h-index 43). He has a strong fund-raising record, participating in or coordinating +20 academic research projects funded by the EU Commission or national funds, in countries such as Scandinavia, Greece, Brazil, China etc. As a marketing consultant, he has implemented numerous projects in all areas of B2C and B2B market research for various clients in industries like food and drinks, chemicals, cosmetics, furniture, high-tech, retailing, transportation etc.
