About Atharva Pradhan

Hi there! I’m Atharva, a roboticist who loves building things that move (intelligently!). Over the past couple of years, I’ve worked at the intersection of real-time control, motion planning, and system-level software integration for advanced robotic manipulators. At the Personal Robotics Lab, I led the development of a dual-arm autonomous manipulation system — everything from designing a real-time safe control interface in C++ at 500 Hz to deploying OMPL-based motion planners in cluttered environments. I enjoy turning complex problems into modular, testable systems, whether that means writing a behavior tree framework in Python or tuning CANbus loops to reduce latency. Beyond software, I’m not afraid to get hands-on with hardware — oscilloscopes, calipers, PCBs, you name it. I’ve debugged motor controllers, configured firmware over CAN, and even designed controller switching systems to run multiple control loops on bandwidth-limited platforms. What gets me excited? Clean interfaces, real-time safety guarantees, robots that can pick from cluttered bins, and using planning as a storytelling tool to choreograph motion. I'm actively seeking full-time roles as a Robotics SWE and am always up for chatting about robot arms, cool open-source projects, or the best Linux tricks for low-latency systems.
