About Athena Florentis

Hello! I’m Athena, a first year student pursuing my Juris Doctor at Queen’s University, where I’m building on my background in business, social advocacy, community engagment and research.I’m a passionate advocate for youth empowerment, equity, and community development in Northern Ontario. I’ve led community-based research on youth experiences, contributed to homelessness-prevention initiatives for Indigenous youth, and EDI workshops delivered in local schools.Alongside my advocacy work, I bring experience in social entrepreneurship and business innovation. In my undergraduate studies, I co-led projects that used business principles to address community challenges, organized entrepreneurship events connecting students with local business leaders, and helped build initiatives aimed at improving access to resources. My experiences have shown me how meaningful engagement can strengthen both individuals and communities. As I continue my legal education, I’m eager to explore different areas of law and discover where I can make the most meaningful impact. What remains constant is my commitment to equity, collaboration, and using my skills to empower others and contribute to positive change.
