About Athena Salinas

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice with a Minor in Psychology after two years at the University of North Florida where I interned at the Public Defenders Office. I am a hard worker and immensely grateful for the opportunities that the University of North Florida granted me — leaving me with a new perspective of the world. I earned my Masters degree in English with a concentration of Composition and Rhetoric. My experience as a graduate student at the University of North Florida led me to a plethora of learning opportunities through workshops, conferences, and focused instruction. The most notable growth opportunity developed during my two semesters as a teaching assistant, which prepared me for my current position as a Visiting Lecturer as Flagler College. I’m grateful and lucky to pursue my passion of teaching and the English language in both my educational and professional life. I look forward to and seek higher education. I take my experiences with me to Flagler College where I teach multiple sections of Writing about Self and Society and First Year Seminar. As a persistent learner, it is a privilege to inspire students to investigate the power of language.
