For the last 4 years I have been running my own company, a travel agency in the USA, with my very talented wife. I take care of the daily operations and manage the IT side of the business. With my experience in Data Warehousing and BI I have been able to create a solid IT infrastructure for the company, based on virtual/remote office concepts, using mostly online cloud services, which are well affordable for a small company like ours, and in many ways better than the expensive enterprise systems I used as a BI consultant. From 1996 to 2011, Atli was engaged in various data warehousing and business intelligence projects. In 1996, he established a BI consulting company, which became a distributor of BusinessObjects and Informatica in Iceland, both a leading business intelligence systems providers. Atli has been working for leading UK and International Internet companies in Luxembourg and London as BI consultant and as ETL Designer/Developer. From 2006 to 2008 he was working for an International bank, both as a Data Warehouse specialist, and as an Enterprise Data Architect, within a greenfield programme aimed at building a new data and application infrastructure, based on best of breed solutions. From the beginning of 2009 he has been working as a senior BI consultant for Blueprint Management Systems, a Business Intelligence and Performance Management Consultancy. Mr. Gudmundsson has also many years of experience in Project Management and Software Development. He has excellent skills both at the top architectural and design level, as well as at the detailed technical level. His focus is on data warehousing and business intelligence, and has special interests in improving data quality and data governance using master data management approches.
