About Aubrey B.

Hello, and thank you for stopping by my page! I graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Microbiology, with a minor in Mathematics, from Texas State University in 2020. My recent experience includes over 4 years in Clinical Laboratory Science with a focus in Microbiology, Virology, and Molecular Biology. While I have thrived in laboratory work, I was facing massive burnout and I took a break from work to recover. Now I am looking for a part-time position that is close by or remote to ease myself back into the workforce. My experience in laboratory science would make me a suitable candidate for the healthcare industry, but my skills in grammar and mathematics are transferable to many other fields. I personally have an interest in Education, Arts, Environmental Science, Ecology, Statistics, and Scientific Research (largely Biology, including Botany, Microbiology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Oncology, Public Health, Nutrition, Ecology, Mycology etc.). I have 3 years of experience in tutoring; I enjoyed my time in education and work well with children and teens alike, including troubled youth and those with learning disabilities. I've taught a wide range of subjects from Elementary Science and Math, up to and including Highschool Genetics, Physics, Chemistry, Calculus, Statistics, and standardized test prep (ACT, SAT, PSAT, STAAR). During my time off, I've taken on a number of personal projects involving gardening, botany, woodworking, 2D/3D digital art/design, crafting, wild plant, fungi, and invertebrate identification, and a number of other subjects. My other hobbies include learning new skills and information, reading, listening to podcasts and music, foraging, and exploring the forest and outdoors in general. Some of my favorite courses in school were within the realms of Math and Biology. I've always enjoyed understanding and solving equations, but I've also been a spectator of nature for as long as I can remember. During undergrad, I fell in love with Mycology, then dove into Botany. Making a positive impact on my family and community in my day-to-day life is important to me, and it reflects as such in my work. In the end, I would like to have built a career in making people's lives and environment better.
