About Aubrey Hopper

I am currently enrolled in Washington University in St. Louis' Danforth College of Arts & Sciences, where I am pursuing a Psychology Major with a concentration in Lifespan Development. I received my Emergency Medical Technician training at the University of Illinois in Chicago, where I completed 60 hours of clinical rotations. As the former Co-Head and co-founder of the Alumni Equity and Inclusion Committee at Chicago Waldorf School, I have always been dedicated to volunteer work and giving back to my community, wherever I am situated. I am particularly passionate about protecting and uplifting homeless communities, addressing the needs of people living with chronic pain, and researching the changing needs of the geriatric and palliative/hospice populations. I hope to continue committing myself to rectifying racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic disparities as I pursue a career in healthcare and research. My interest in geriatrics and palliative care began at Westminster retirement community. Since then, I have become invested in hospice work and research, and now volunteer at Accentcare hospice. I am currently assisting in the Nahman-Averbuch Pain Across the Lifespan (PAL) lab, exploring the effects of puberty on pain sensitivity.
