About Aubrey Jackson

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), I am part of the Photovoltaic(PV) Component Lifetime Assessment and Weathering team collaborating with scientists, engineers, and industry partners to conduct world-class research on PV material reliability and durability. My role involves close collaboration with scientists, engineers, and industry partners; applying an interdisciplinary approach to problem-solving. My work encompasses material characterization, experimental design, fabrication, process optimization, verification/validation, data analysis and more in regards to laboratory operations and the scientific method. My experience has refined my ability to maintain extreme attention to detail, and meet the high standards expected in cutting-edge research. Beyond PV, I am interest in energy systems, electronic devices, manufacturing processes and systems engineering. My educational background is interdisciplinary and integrated, with emphasis on mechanical, systems and electrical engineering as well as material science and renewable energy power systems/grid integration studies. I will be graduating in May 2025 with my Bachelors in Engineering through the Iron Range Engineering (IRE) co-op program at Minnesota State University, Mankato. I bring a unique perspective shaped by 2 years of hands-on experience in academic research providing a strong foundation in self-directed learning and adaptability.
