About Audra Carabetta
Audra Carabetta has been dancing, teaching and choreographing in the Boston area since the late 90’s. Audra is currently the director of the dance minor at Clark University as well as a dance professor at Holy Cross College and Bridgewater State University. She has been on faculty at Amherst College, Smith College, University of Massachusetts Amherst, Dean College, Ballet Arts Center of Winchester and Annemarie’s Dance Center. She has had the pleasure of performing with choreographers and companies such as: Across The Ages Dance Project, Brian Crabtree and Dancers, Lorraine Chapman The Company, Daniel McCusker Dance Project, Marcus Schulkind, Weber Dance, the Ken Pierce Baroque Dance Company and The Boston Early Music Festival. Audra Carabetta and Dancers was founded in the late 1990’s. The contemporary company’s mission is to provide engaging, original works that are inspired by everyday life experiences and human interactions. Choreographically, Audra Carabetta and Dancers has received attention via awards and grants, and works have been presented at various venues, some of which include: Bowdoin College, the College of the Holy Cross, Smith College, the American College Dance Festival, The Massachusetts Dance Festival, Green Street Studios, The Dance Complex, The Dance Place of Newburyport, the Winchester Performing Arts Center and the Virginia Beach Performing Arts Center."My goal as an educator is to inspire students to explore their own personal expression through a combination of post modern and contemporary techniques. I approach both kinesthetic and academic learning with an awareness of diversity and individuality, honing in on important fundamentals that foster self-confidence and a sense of community in the classroom.”
