About Audra McNutt

As an experienced Motor Coach Operator many skills come to mind. Over the years the many skills that I have accumulated have become second nature to me. I can’t begin to think of a skill that is more important that another, because they are all equally necessary. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would ever drive a bus. The first opportunity was given to me while I lived in Ann Arbor, Michigan and I am so grateful. I learned a lot about people but more importantly I learned a lot about myself. It was one of the most challenging jobs I have ever had. I was given excellent training and that is where I really developed the many skills that I use daily and have taken with me everywhere I go. When I was younger I stuttered very badly and I never truly felt comfortable talking or being in front of people. All my life used humor to offset my stuttering. When I started driving I was nervous about my stuttering. During the time of my first driving opportunity, it allowed me to grow so much as a person. It challenged me to do the things that I was so used to avoiding and in turn I rarely ever stutter now. Driving transit bus has also given me skills that allowed me to transition into other employment opportunities and work within and around the community. I also now have the drive, no pun intended, to take on new goals and endeavors I have for my life. I can now be humorous because I want to not because I have to.
