I began my journey with the Bear Family in 1987 while searching for my first job. McDonald’s was close to home, and I was hired as a crew member—never imagining that decision would turn into a lifelong career.]During my senior year of high school, an office education requirement led to a pivotal opportunity when Mrs. Bear invited me to work in the franchise office. That gesture allowed me to gain administrative experience and marked the beginning of my professional growth with the Bear Family.After graduating, I transitioned into a full-time office role, working closely with Mrs. Bear, who became an incredible mentor. I managed payroll, supported accounts payable and inventory, and assisted Mr. Bear with his demanding schedule. Through her guidance, I learned the importance of organization, accuracy, and accountability as the business continued to grow.In 2004, I became Mr. Bear’s assistant, now overseeing payroll and office operations while partnering closely with restaurant leaders to resolve employee pay and operational challenges—naturally leading me into Human Resources.As the organization transitioned to David Bear’s leadership, my HR responsibilities expanded. With his encouragement, I pursued formal HR education, became a SHRM member, and earned my SHRM certification in 2022. I was promoted to Human Resources Manager as the organization grew to 35 restaurants.With the continued support of David Bear and Vice President Nicole Bear, I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources in October 2025—while working full time. I am the first in my family to achieve this milestone.Having been with the organization longer than anyone else, I bring deep institutional knowledge and serve as a trusted thought partner, cultural steward, and keeper of the Bear Family’s history and values. I am known for being fair, consistent, calm, and composed, and I take great pride in caring for our people and protecting our culture.In 2025, the Bear Family entered a new chapter with the sale of its McDonald’s restaurants. While the brand changed, my commitment did not. I am proud to continue this journey with BFRx Hospitality and K9 Resorts Luxury Pet Hotels and excited for what lies ahead.
