About Audrey Johnson

As a recent graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and a minor in Microbiology, I have an endless appetite for understanding the complexities and neurobiology of the human brain. My time at university has allowed me to explore my interests in the psychological and biological sciences, unearthing my passion for research, neurochemistry, and neurological disease. Additionally, I am fascinated by the relationship between gene expression in the brain and specific neuropsychiatric phenotypes, such as anxiety disorders and autism. In a broader sense, I wish to uncover how these factors individually and collectively reinforce what we perceive as consciousness. My interests mainly lie at the molecular and chemical levels of the brain. Currently, my goal is to acquire new research experience in a more professional setting, however, I am adaptable and open to a myriad of opportunities. The neuroscience field is ever-expanding, and I aim to hone my laboratory and critical analysis skills to contribute to the knowledge pool guiding prevailing questions about the relationship between neurobiology, mental health, and the conscious experience.
