Background

About August Balicki

I am an ambitious graduate student and engineering professional pursuing a Master of Engineering in Instrumentation and Applied Physics at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Currently, I focus on applying advanced physics principles in both hardware and software aspects to drive data driven solutions to real world challenges. This program gives me hands-on, project-based experience where I have the opportunity to lead a technical project through design, fabrication, calibration, and documentation. My coursework in machine learning applications for physics is pivotal to providing solutions in cryogenic applications for quantum industries and radiation safety. My professional experience thus far includes being a Semiconductor Engineering & Technical Writing Intern with Littelfuse and being a Project Engineering Intern at GTI Energy. At Littelfuse, I utilized automation to optimize manufacturing processes and contributed to metrology improvements for device fabrication and testing. At GTI Energy, I supported engineering projects that contribute to sustainable energy solutions using technical problem-solving skills and collaboration across teams.Through my rigorous academic training and practical engineering experience, I have gained both theoretical and practical knowledge in physics, semiconductors, energy systems, and project management. I thrive at the convergence of science and engineering, translating complex concepts into practical engineering solutions. My passion for innovation knows no bounds and I am enthusiastic to continue creating real-world solutions.
