About August Ritter

I manage a $150M fund that is allocated to conservation teams driving scaled impact across the 79 countries where The Nature Conservancy (TNC) operates. The Accelerating Impact Fund allocates $50M annually to TNC teams achieving significant outcomes in the spaces of climate mitigation and adaptation, land, freshwater and ocean protection and improved resource management. I am the co-founder and Managing Director of The Agility Lab, an internal innovation engine for TNC. In this now or never decade for our planet, the conservation space needs 21st century tools to innovate and scale solutions for our planetary health. The Agility Lab has adapted agile, human centered design and lean-startup methodologies for use in NGOs. We support conservation teams in leveraging these tools to build more impactful solutions, faster. I oversee TNC’s global Portfolio Management process. In this annual process, every TNC business unit evaluates conservation progress, prioritizes their most impactful work, and allocates resources accordingly.
