About Augusto G.

Through many years of delivering products to improve patients' quality of care, I have found that technology and the challenges that come with it are only half the story. The most interesting and rewarding part is working with others to build those products as a team. Early in my career, I joined Outcome Concept Systems, a start-up company, where I learned a lot about building SaaS products end-to-end. Over the years, I took on more responsibility and was promoted from Sr. SDE to Program manager, then to Director, Software Engineering, leading 17 people (SDEs, QA, PM, and BA) In 2010, I decided to pursue an MBA to better understand the business and customer needs. While doing the MBA, I needed to balance work and school, so I decided to go back to doing program management and joined MCG Health.I completed my MBA in June 2013 and later had the opportunity to get back into Software Engineering Management at MCG Health, where I managed 22 SDEs and 3 scrum masters across three teams. Working in Software Engineering again made me realize how much I missed the hands-on aspects of coding and, above all, problem solving, so in March 2020, I made the decision to go back to the Software Development Engineer role. This has allowed me to build up my technical and problem-solving skills in a profound way.Over the years of wearing multiple hats, working to build solid products and strong teams, I have found that I'm a learner and that I enjoy using my methodical and detailed approach to solve problems and improve processes. I have also found that my passion for technology is only rivaled by my passion to grow those around me through coaching and mentoring.
