About Augustus Bechtold

As a Boiler & Machinery consultant engineer, I performed risk evaluations and analyses for clients in many different occupancies across the northeastern seaboard. My specialties were centered around the pulp and paper, chemical, and molten material industries but I also regularly performed evaluations at hospitals, data centers, food manufacturers, and manufacturing facilities. I worked with clients to fully understand their business, critical paths, and bottlenecks to help identify their largest risk exposures due to utility, support system, and manufacturing equipment breakdown. Once identified, I developed risk improvement recommendations to convey the risk exposure to the clients and provide a way for them to mitigate these risks before they manifested into a business interruption or loss. I also earned and maintain my Inservice Inspector Commission (IS) to perform state jurisdictional inspections for black liquor recovery boilers and power boilers. As a maintenance engineer, I worked as a maintenance and reliability engineer for the past 4.5 years, affording me the opportunity to troubleshoot complex problems with rotating and stationary machinery. I commissioned new product lines and equipment and executed many start-ups and turnarounds/outages. I performed failure analyses for a wide variety of equipment types and driven reliability improvements across several areas of different chemical plants. I was fortunate to work in a team-based environment with highly experienced people where I learned and developed new skills on a daily basis while continuing to hone my existing skill set. My specialties include root cause equipment failure analysis, development of repair plans and predictive maintenance procedures, vessel/equipment inspections, vibration data analysis, operations and production optimization, MTBF reduction through reliability improvements, and coordinating/communicating across multiple groups and teams.
