About Austin Bye

I have worked a few places in my career in Case Management in supportive living, bedside care in general and orthopedic surgery and an Emergency Department, and currently am working as a Clinical Informatics Specialist. I have increased the effectiveness, efficiency, accountability, and sustainability of clinical initiative that assisted in the successful transition to a fully integrated Electronic Health Record throughout VIHA programs and service; Royal Jubilee Hospital/Victoria General Hospital/ Gorge Road Hospital/ West Coast General Hospital Clinical Documentation, Nanaimo Regional General Hospital Emergency Department Prescriptions and Computerized Order Entry, including Operational Requirements. My previous experience includes mentoring other staff to the floor as charge nurse though being a resource to collaborate care with while simultaneously caring for my own patient assignment through Collaboration with other members of the interdisciplinary team to transfer patients to ensure optimal patient care and coordinating the care of 38 patients, utilizing critical thinking and 2 EHR's to organize, collect, and distribute patient centred care plans for residents with dementia, complex wounds, and complex medical backgrounds. Currently I am pursuing a Master of Nursing - Health Informatics
