About Austin Kellar

Ever since I was a little kid, I loved teaching others about what I had learned about the world. When I was in 7th grade, I had an experience that solidified my love for history and for teaching. We learned about the Japanese Warring States period, otherwise known as the Sengoku period, and we did so through a daily interactive map that pitted the class against each other as each of them represented a different tribe. My love for learning has continued throughout my life as I am passionately looking for more information to absorb. This search has brought me to Ball State University's Public History program as well as its Teacher's College. These two colleges each provide me with methodology to teach in either informal or formal settings, respectively. I have challenged myself by enrolling in the Ball State's Honors College, which presents the humanities in a crossdisciplinarity fashion which applies philosophies relevant to the topics presented. The Honors College has allowed me to think about the purpose behind many of the wonders this world has to offer, while also providing me with important content knowledge that will be useful in any of my passionate fields.
