About Austin Poorbaugh

I am an educator and analytical problem solver with five years of experience in education and seven in analysis. I enjoy finding the balance between the hard skills of analysis such as data sanitization, profile creation, and recommendation building, and the soft skills where you deliver on this data to create a beneficial outcome. I hold a Bachelor's Degree from The University of North Texas and have a record of success in Team Development, Presentation, Public Speaking, and Logistics Management. I am invested in and dedicated to learning new tools and applying my skillset to provide a better world for all.With regards to data analysis, I entered the field while honing my experience in Analytical Music Theory. I enjoy looking at and finding patterns in datasets to improve the lives of others and to promote forward progress in the world. My degree work involved pattern analysis and the creation of a usable dashboard in Microsoft Excel for music analysis. Previous projects include; an archival digitization of compositional procedures and typesetting in LaTeX, Python implementation of Euclidean Rhythms and analysis/cataloging of rhythms, and construction of a ‘chord catalog’ based on the work of 20th Century musicians and number theory manipulation methods.Previously, I worked as Front of House Coordinator for one of the premier music schools in the nation. Our clients involved musicians from around the world, and delivering a successful and professional experience was a part of my daily routine. This included creating training materials, conducting seminars, and overseeing scheduling and team management. Creating a positive and inviting environment for others, crafting and managing a cohesive team, and keeping things running smoothly with superb time management and task delegation have all been a part of my development.I look forward to adding my skill set to a team that understands that its biggest asset is people. In order to create a better world we have to understand one another - let us use data and technology to further that goal.
