About Austin Roberts

Recent Chemistry graduate (BS, ACS Accredited) with 3 years experience working as a chemistry research assistant. Projects included development of compounds that mimic specific binding of proteins, synthesis of light activated anti-cancer candidates and nanoparticle synthesis for novel gels that may improve protein detection. In addition I have experience working as a laboratory technician in the waste water treatment plant for the City of San Jose where I carried out experiments that served to keep the treatment plant in working order. I am highly motivated, have a talent for quickly mastering new techniques and understand the need for being efficient, safe and mindful of chemical waste minimization and disposal. My experience in organic, organometallic, analytical chemistry and polymer synthesis has given me the chance to see the importance of interdisciplinary work. I am personable and work well both independently and in group settings. I thrive in high pressure and deadline-driven environments.
