I am currently a software developer at Sciome LLC. I work mainly with Java creating desktop and web applications for the scientific community. Prior to working with Sciome, I had been doing bioinformatics research with Dr. Mira Han for almost 3 years. The main focus of my research is cancer genomics and whole genome sequence analysis. I designed and implemented many pipelines and programs for analyzing genomic data, including a program for detecting novel transposable element insertions in cancer genomes. I have also done work with RNA-seq analysis and somatic mutation analysis. After graduating from UNLV with a BS in Computer Science, I spent 2 years working as a Software Engineer for L3 Technologies. I worked in an agile environment with a large team of developers.
