Background
About Austin Shupe
Owner/Operator of Yucca Man Records. Staff Composer & Creative Consultant @ SHINDIG Music. Grad from Berklee College of Music Being a multi-instrumentalist, engineer, composer, arranger, producer, and mixer allow me to take ownership of every step in my work. Wherever possible, I like to make things from scratch, avoiding the tired, outdated loops used by so many. Music should be homegrown and organic wherever possible. My decades of industry experience in the tv, film and commercial world gives me an informed sensibility regarding trends - but my background gigging with punk groups, jazz trios, theater performances, and metal bands gives my music an eclectic, authentic edge. I’ve written for thousands of competitive briefs, and while I’ve won the great majority of them, even the losses have equipped me with the experience and wisdom to understand the most crucial factor in this art: what’s is profound, what sells, and what is both. From consultation to pre-production, composition to sound design, voice over to mix; I’m looking forward to collaborating with you-Austin + Yucca Man Records
